He picked us up at our hotel in a Lada 2101, a 1970s era car made in the Soviet Union, and took us through different parts of Nowa Huta including the Steel works' gate and administration buildings, Ronald Reagan plaza, Lord's Ark church, an old Soviet IS-2 tank from WW2, and he pointed out many other interesting places and sights along the way. “My expectations were way too high for this tour. Up front I'll say that it was a hot day and they do warn you that the retro bus is not air conditioned, but it was nearly unbearable inside. That aside, the tour was totally underwhelming. The guide was mediocre and offered next to no information about what we were seeing. His English was limited, too, which made it harder. Not that the ONLY place you enter on thus tour is the Museum of Life Under Communism (which is tiny)....nothing more. This tour was not worth the price or time.”
